Our Story

Layered Love started with a 3D printer, a simple idea, and a desire to make a difficult moment a little easier for a child.

As a Medical Laboratory Technician, I’ve spent years drawing blood from patients, including many children. I saw firsthand how frightening a blood draw could be for a child. Even when we did everything possible to comfort them, the fear of the needle and the unfamiliar environment could be overwhelming.

After getting my first 3D printer, I started printing things for myself, family, and friends. Then an idea came to me: What if I could use my printer to make something small for the kids I was drawing blood from?

I began creating little 3D-printed animals and toys for children to choose from. I noticed a difference almost immediately. Instead of focusing only on the needle, they had something colorful and fun to look forward to. I saw children become more relaxed, more comfortable, and—most importantly—I saw smiles.

That’s when I realized this could be more than a hobby.

Layered Love was born from the belief that even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. Today, our mission is to create and donate these little 3D-printed friends so more children can experience a moment of comfort, courage, and joy when they need it most.

Every toy is created one layer at a time and given with love.
